Returns Policy


Unless faulty, we do not offer a return service for items sold in the shop.

We sell our hens with a week guarantee against health problems or 2 weeks if you’re an advantage card member. Should in the unlikely event you have concerns about your hens please let us know as soon as you can. We are happy to issue a credit note or exchange hens (like for like breeds) that appear to be in poor health within this week period only. This excludes stress unless our recommendations have been followed.

We cannot extend this guarantee to protect hens against predators (e.g. foxes, dogs etc), any hens that escape from their new home or for behavioural problems. We have a strong belief in the quality of our birds but we are unable to guarantee them for longer than a week as we cannot control their living conditions or any stress which they may be exposed to.

You must give us 24 hours notice before you intend to return the hen(s) so we can make arrangements. This is important for the welfare of the hen(s); failure to do so may result in us being unable to take the hen(s) back.  You will also need to bring the receipt from time of purchase.

However this can be changed at the sole discretion of the manager- Matt Taylor.

Following government advice we are currently not open to the public as a drop in shop, instead we are offering a appointment/ click and collect service as well as regular home delivery service ( DEVON / CORNWALL). Slots can be booked via this link

We will be at the shop manning the phones 10am til 4pm, Tuesday - Saturday.

We have the basics on our online shop.  If you cannot find all the products you are looking for then please contact us and we are more than happy to help. We can also supply a wide range of animal / pet feed too.

Following advice from Defra we are unable to use 3rd Party delivery services outside our region. This does restrict our delivery service to Devon and Cornwall only.

After exceptional demand we are have limited numbers of our RSPCA Assured hybrids available, we will have another batch ready at point of lay mid June. You can pre-book appointment slots on this batch to collect them. We will release a more exact date in due course but please email to registrar an interest.  We still have a selection of pure breeds and bantams to see this look at our "Current Availability" page.
